About the company
Vattenfall is an energy company wholly owned by the Swedish state, founded in 1909. It is one of the largest energy companies in the Nordics and operates in Sweden, Finland, Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
Vattenfall emphasises reliability, stability and long-term price certainty. In Finland the company sells both spot electricity and fixed-term hybrid contracts. All Vattenfall electricity is certified renewable (mainly wind and hydro).
What sets Vattenfall apart?
Vattenfall’s Ilmasto Mix range is a popular fixed-price contract that includes certificate-of-origin renewable electricity. This is a rare combination: most fixed-term contracts do not include a certificate of origin at no extra cost. Ilmasto Mix 6 kk has one of the lowest monthly fees on the market.
Vattenfall contracts in the Verrokit comparison
Vattenfall offers four contracts:
- Optimi Pörssisähkö — spot electricity with a discounted monthly fee for the first 12 months
- Ilmasto Mix 6 kk — 6-month fixed contract with one of the lowest monthly fees on the market, certificate of origin included
- Ilmasto Mix 12 kk — 12-month price lock with certificate of origin and a fee-free intro period
- Ilmasto Mix 24 kk — 24-month price lock with certificate of origin and a fee-free intro period
Live prices and monthly fees are always available in our comparison tool and on each contract’s dedicated page.
Every contract has its own page with detailed information, price examples and a FAQ. A list of all the provider’s contracts can also be found at the bottom of this page. Compare Vattenfall’s contracts with other providers →
Who is Vattenfall for?
Vattenfall suits the consumer who values a large established company and green electricity — and is willing to pay slightly more margin in exchange for the company’s size, support and financial stability. Long-term fixed contracts (12/24 kk Ilmasto Mix) are particularly suited to stability seekers.
Customer service and online tools
Vattenfall’s customer service is one of the most established in the Nordics — chat, phone, email, app. The company has a long operating history and an established position in Finland.
