Vattenfall is an energy company wholly owned by the Swedish state, founded in 1909. It is one of the largest energy companies in the Nordics and operates in Sweden, Finland, Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

Vattenfall emphasises reliability, stability and long-term price certainty. In Finland the company sells both spot electricity and fixed-term hybrid contracts. All Vattenfall electricity is certified renewable (mainly wind and hydro).

How do I sign up with Vattenfall?

You can sign a contract directly on the Vattenfall website — click the ”Choose” button in the Verrokit comparison to go straight to the order form. You will need your metering point identifier (on your current electricity bill) and your personal ID.

Your old contract ends automatically when the new one takes effect — Vattenfall handles the switch for you within 2–4 weeks. You do not need to notify your old provider or your local grid operator separately.

Yes — Vattenfall sells electricity across all of Finland regardless of the local grid operator. Where you live (Helsinki, Oulu, Rovaniemi) does not affect whether you can sign a Vattenfall contract. The local grid transfer stays local and is billed separately.
